Privacy policy

MT-Uptime Hosted is an uptime-monitoring service operated by Melsson Technology. This policy says what we store, what we never store, and who else can see any of it. It's short, because monitoring needs remarkably little about you.

What we store about you

• Your account: email address, a display name if you set one, and a hash of your password. We never store the password itself and cannot recover it — a reset is the only route back in.
• Billing details: your subscription state and the last four digits and brand of your card. Full card numbers go directly to our payment processor and never reach our servers.
• Sign-in records: when you last signed in, for account security.

What we store because you asked us to monitor something

• Monitor configuration: the URLs, hostnames, ports and records you ask us to check, plus the thresholds and intervals you set.
• Check results: response times, status codes, certificate expiry dates, and a snippet of the response when a check fails — the snippet exists so an alert can tell you what broke. If your error pages contain sensitive data, that snippet will contain it too.
• Secrets you enter: database passwords, HTTP auth credentials, API tokens and webhook URLs. These are encrypted at rest, and they are never written to logs — outbound request logging redacts credential-bearing headers and query strings by design.

What we never do

• We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
• We don't run third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or session recording on this site or in the app.
• We don't read your monitor data to build a profile of you, and we don't use it to train anything.

Who else is involved

Running the service means a small number of processors necessarily see some of it:

• Our hosting provider, which operates the servers your data sits on.
• Our payment processor, which handles card details and subscriptions directly — we never hold your card number.
• Our email provider, which delivers alerts, password resets and receipts, and therefore sees the recipient address and the message.
• Any notification service you configure yourself — Slack, Discord, Teams, Telegram, ntfy, Gotify, PagerDuty or your own webhook. When you point an alert at one of those, its contents go to that service on your instruction, under their terms.

Anything you publish is public

A status page is public by design: anyone with the link sees the monitors you put on it and their uptime history. Nothing else about your account is exposed there, but do check what you are naming — a monitor called "acme-prod-payments-db" tells a visitor something.

How long we keep it

Individual check results are rolled up into hourly and daily summaries and then deleted, so long-range uptime figures survive without keeping every raw record forever. If you close your account, we delete your configuration and history within 30 days, except records we're required to keep for tax and accounting purposes.

Your choices

You can export or delete individual monitors at any time, and close the whole account from your account page. If you'd like a copy of everything we hold about you, or want it erased sooner than the 30 days above, email privacy@melssontechnology.com and we'll sort it out.

Cookies

One cookie, and it is strictly necessary: the encrypted session cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, which is why this site has no cookie banner — there is nothing to ask you to consent to.
