Terms of service

The service
MT-Uptime Hosted is an uptime-monitoring service operated by Melsson Technology. We make periodic network checks against the targets you configure, record the results, notify you about changes, and publish any status pages you choose to publish. You keep ownership of your configuration and your check history.
Targets you may monitor
You may only configure monitors against systems you own or are authorised to test. Monitoring generates repeated automated requests to a target, and pointing that at someone else's infrastructure without permission is not something we will host. We may suspend accounts that do it, and we may act on a credible complaint from the owner of a target.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for what the people you invite do. Accounts support Admin, Editor and Viewer roles — use them. An Admin can read and change everything in your account, including stored monitor credentials.
Billing
- New accounts get a 14-day free trial. No payment method is required to start, and nothing is charged unless you add one.
- The plan is $29 per month or $290 per year, billed in advance to the card on file. Prices exclude any sales tax or VAT that applies where you are.
- You can cancel any time; monitoring continues to the end of the period you've paid for. We don't do partial-period refunds as a rule, but if something has gone wrong, write to us and we'll be reasonable.
- If a charge fails we retry over several days and email you. Continued failure pauses monitoring; it does not delete your configuration.
Fair use
The plan includes up to 100 monitors and check intervals down to 20 seconds. That ceiling exists to bound the cost of running your account, not to sell you a larger one — if you need more, ask rather than opening a second account.
What we do and don't promise
We aim to run your checks on schedule and deliver notifications promptly, and we monitor the monitoring. But the service depends on networks, DNS, mail providers and third-party notification services that we do not control, and a missed or delayed alert is possible. MT-Uptime is provided "as is", without warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Concretely: do not use this service as the only safeguard for anything where a missed alert causes physical harm, financial loss you cannot absorb, or a breach of an obligation you owe someone else. It is a monitoring tool, not a guarantee.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, attacks the service, or monitors targets without authorisation. Except in cases of abuse we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export. You can close your account at any time from your account page.
The open-source engine is licensed separately
These terms cover the hosted service only. The MT-Uptime monitoring engine is published separately under the AGPL-3.0, and your rights to that software come from that licence, not from this agreement. Nothing here restricts what you may do with the open-source version.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
